It's here! DU and Irish to battle in OC

#6 Notre Dame and #12 Denver face-off Saturday at OCC.
It's finally here. Big Time college lacrosse has arrived in Orange County!

On Saturday afternoon, two of the nation's most successful Division I college lacrosse programs will face-off at LeBard Stadium on the campus of Orange Coast College.

"This event has been several years in the making and now its actually happening," said Pacific Coast Shootout executive director G.W. Mix. "Its so exciting for our lacrosse community to have such an epic battle in our own backyard. The young players in Southern California, and their families, will finally be able to enjoy what young players on the East Coast have enjoyed for decades - catching a great college lacrosse game on a Saturday afternoon, just a short drive from their house."

Game One of the Shootout will feature the Pioneers of Denver (3-2), currently ranked #12 in the USILA poll, taking on the eighth ranked Fighting Irish of Notre Dame (2-1). Denver is coming off a stunning 12-10 upset loss at the hands of the Penn Quakers, while the Irish capped off a ferocious comeback in Chapel Hill (down 8-3 in the third quarter) to best the Tar Heels 11-10.

Game Two will be a MCLA match-up between LMU (1-4) and UCSB (6-1). The Gauchos are winners of two MCLA national championships. The Lions are coached by former John Hopkins goalie Mike Gvozden.

A few reserved seats remain and are available on-line through Wednesday afternoon. Tickets for the Shootout will also be available on game day at LeBard Stadium. All game day tickets are General Admission.
